School Education Program
The POW/MIA education program presented by Rolling Thunder Chapter 5 is designed to educate students and the public on the issue of the American Prisoners of War/Missing in Action. The program is approximately 45 minutes and is designed to provide students the opportunity to be active participants providing them meaningful knowledge and instilling a deeper fact based understanding of a unique category of Veterans whose sacrifices have guaranteed our freedoms. Including the very freedom of this program to assemble and to educate. If you would like RTKY5 to present this program at your school, please contact us. |
Missing Man Table Please contact us if you are interested in setting a table in your Restaurant, Cafe, Dining Hall etc.. |
The table is round – to show our everlasting concern.
The cloth is white – symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to serve. The single red rose reminds us of the lives of these Americans….and their loved ones and friends who keep the faith, while seeking answers. The yellow ribbon symbolizes our continued uncertainty, hope for their return and determination to account for them. A slice of lemon reminds us of their bitter fate, captured and missing in a foreign land. A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears of our missing and their families – who long for answers after decades of uncertainty. The lighted candle reflects our hope for their return – alive or dead. The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain us and those lost from our country, founded as one nation under God. The glass is inverted – to symbolize their inability to share a toast. The chair is empty – for the missing…………….. (moment of silence) |
POW☆MIA Chair of Honor Program
Contact us so we may help you Honor these Missing Servicemen and their families with your own Chair of Honor |
Since WWII 81,000+ Servicemen remain Unaccounted for.
A Chair of Honor is very simple yet POWERFUL, it's a single back chair with the POW☆MIA Logo on it which may then be flanked by the American Flag and the POW☆MIA Flag. Along with the Chair is a plaque that states there are still servicemen that remain unaccounted for from previous wars. This chair is in their honor until they come home. A POW☆MIA chair in any location is to remain perpetually empty to help people remember that even though our soldiers are not here, there is always space for them. They will not be FORGOTTEN. These chairs of Honor are currently in Stadiums, Arenas, Airports, Universities, Courthouses, Capitol Buildings and more in hundreds of cities and towns spread throughout our Country. |
Public Speaking Our Member Veterans, as representatives of Rolling Thunder® Inc., are available to speak at schools, scout meetings and other youth programs, educating students, and their parents, about the honor of serving their country and educating them about the POW☆MIA issue. Contact us for scheduling. |
